SBQ - Question of the Week 10/18/06

Which way do you stitch, i.e. do you stitch /// followed by \\ontop, or the other way around \\\ followed by ///? Are you left- orright-handed
and do you think that this affects the way that you stitch?

For me I generally go //// then\\\\. I'm right handed but I have no clue whether or not it affects the way I stitch.

I'm very curious to see what everyone else had to say on this topic!

Round and round and round

I don't think I'll ever get all my floss wound on all those little bobbin thingies. And I never got the toybox cleaned out this weekend. Youngin is with my sister tonight so I plan to get started cleaning it out the minute I get home. And I'm working on my piece for the show at our Art Galleries. I'll take a picture tonight of what it is going to look like when it's finished. It's a breast cancer themed piece.

Almost finished with the hot flash girl. I plan to have it done before Friday when I leave for vacation.

Who knew I had all this stitching stuff?

At some point in the past few days I became overwhelmed with my cross stitch books being here and there, thread being somewhere else, fabric stashed other places and I have become hell bent on getting it all organized.

My couch looks like a needlework store vomited. My husband just looks at it with a sick expression. I have spent the past few days organizing my floss and putting the bobbins into the little plastic containers. And went through my DMC color checklist and marked off all the colors that I have (that I have found thus far). Now keep in mind I have 2 projects I need to finish. BUT now I feel like I have to finish the organizing. So tonight, momma froffie will be going home and taking back over the wooden toy box her grandfather made her so many years ago. It currently has some random toys in it of my daughters but I figure, she hasn't played with them in ages so they will probably go in the goodwill bag.

And it will get done tonight. If I have to stay up all night and get organized I will. I'll be sure to take and post pictures of the madness.

Keeping myself busy

I spent most of yesterday at the hospital as my 4o year old sister had a hysterectomy. It was a very productive day for me and my cross stitch. My current work in progress is a hello kitty ballerina for my daughter. I want to make it into a pillow. But it is quite close to being complete.

So today, I was searching new patterns on the web and came across a pattern by Dolly Mamas. The "Is It Hot In Here" pattern. The Dolly Mamas patterns are some of my favorites. I have purchased several just because I can't resist them. So I got to thinking, this pattern would be perfect for my sister who has been and will be having hot flashes. Some of you might think this is mean and callous but she has a sense of humor like I do and will think it is funny. So my little red car will be headed to AC Moore tonight in hopes of finding this pattern so I can get to work on it ASAP. This is one that I will for sure take pictures of periodically. I can't wait to get started and I only wish I had thought of it sooner.

I seem to be lagging behind

First off, the bears and flag project has been put away. I'm not patient enough to finish it right now. I am working on a different, easier bear cross stitch for my mom, which is a better idea since I seem to have a gazillion and one irons in the fire right now.

I'm exhausted. Vacation was fun but trying, from there I went straight into Vacation Bible School, it ends tonight and I still don't have a "free" evening until Tuesday! I'm pooped. I still have quite a bit to do to finish the new project, I'm too tired to even think, and I think I'm getting an ear infection and haven't managed to find time to call the doctor. And she isn't in on Friday. Plus I have to do laundry, put it away and find time to grocery shop.

But I will finish her gift by her birthday which is Sunday. I also need to pick up her flowers, pick up her cake and cook navy beans for her birthday dinner. This too shall pass.

Question of the Week

Today's SBQ was suggested by Carol and is:

Since you started blogging, have you noticed any difference in yourstitching habits? Tell us about them.

I have been more motivated to stitch but so far haven't noticed any changes in my habits except I seem to be stitching more! :)

I confess...

The bear project is getting the best of me. While I know that is probably an easy project for most of you, for me it is becoming a pain in my A@&#*@&. But I won't give up. I can't give up.

I really want to go home and stitch away this evening but the hubby has roared and is insisting we do some cleaning tonight. I'd argue with him but it has been put off way too long. I will be the first to admit, the house is such a mess right now I could sceam.

SO I guess my stitches will be put on the back burner until I get some cleaning done. The nerve of that boy, expecting me to do something besides stitch.

P.S. He's been off all day today but do you think he washed the first dish????
